What this opens on
The Form panel, on the e-Visa photo preset. Each preset carries the numbers its document gives; the bench picks the smallest size that clears the pixel floor, then solves the JPEG into the KB band.
| Preset | Pixels | KB | Format |
|---|---|---|---|
| Government of India e-Visa — Photo | 350 × 350 to 1000 × 1000, square | 10–300 | JPEG |

| India Post Payments Bank — Signature | 140 × 60 | 10–20 | JPEG |
| India Post Payments Bank — Left thumb impression | 240 × 240 | 20–50 | JPEG |
| India Post Payments Bank — Handwritten declaration | 800 × 400 | 50–100 | JPEG |

| Staff Selection Commission CHSLE 2022 notice — Signature | none given (4.0 : 2.0 cm) | 10–20 | JPEG |
| U.S. Department of State, Diversity Visa programme — Photo | 600 × 600 | 0–240 | JPEG |
Worked case: a 240 × 240 photo on the e-Visa preset is below the 350-pixel floor, so the bench enlarges it to 350 × 350 (×1.46) and saves a JPEG inside 10–300 KB. The photo stays on your device throughout.
Steps: 1. Open the photo · 2. Choose the form · 3. Frame the crop · 4. Save · 5. Check the result.
Where this falls down
- No preset is 'approved'.Presets are the published numbers, with their source. Confirm on the official portal; rules change between notices.
- Density is not written yet.Two IPPB slots mention 200 DPI. This build saves no density tag; the checklist says so. Portals measure the pixels.
- A tiny signature may not reach its floor.A flat signature can stay under 10 KB at the preset's pixel size even at quality 0.97. The page says so instead of padding the file.
Questions people ask
- Where do these numbers come from?
- Each preset names its source document and the date it was checked (18 October 2026): the Government of India e-Visa image specification, the India Post Payments Bank 2025 recruitment notification, a Staff Selection Commission notice from 2022 (labelled: check the current one), and the U.S. Department of State Diversity Visa photo page. The link is beside the preset.
- Will the portal accept it?
- We check pixels, kilobytes, shape and format against the preset and show a tick or a cross for each, read from the saved file. The portal checks the rest — the face, the background, the date of the photo — and nothing here can promise what it will decide.
- What about Passport Seva, PAN or Aadhaar?
- No primary upload specification was verified for those, so there is no preset. Choose Custom and type the numbers printed on your form; you can save it in this browser under a name.
- My photo is the wrong shape. What happens?
- For a square or fixed-shape preset the bench shows a crop frame you move yourself. Nothing is cut until you press the button, and the save stays off until the shape matches.
- Is the photo uploaded to check it?
- No. The checks run on the file your browser just saved, inside this tab.
Better fit?
- Increase JPG size in KBClear a form's minimum file size honestly: quality first, then pixels, bytes measured from the saved file.
- Increase image resolutionType the exact width, height or long edge; the bench shows the factor that results and whether it fits.
- A rough small photoOpens with the clean-up pass on, because a 600-pixel JPEG carries more than a picture.
- Increase image qualityClean-up first, guarded detail, an optional on-device model, and a same-size option. Judged at 1:1.
